Ingredients
- 1 cup of butter
- 1 cup of light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar with a hand mixer or stand mixer. Add in the eggs, one at a time, and mix until fully combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until fully combined. If you are adding in chocolate chips or chopped nuts, add them at this time and stir until combined.
Scoop about 1 tablespoon of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are lightly browned. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
